My approach
Therapy, for me, is not about sitting across from you with a clipboard and a neat explanation of who you are.
It’s not about diagnosing you, fixing you, or fitting you into a model that makes sense on paper but not in your life.
It’s about walking alongside you while you work out what is actually true for you.
I see you as a full, complex, capable human being who has learned to live with whatever you’ve been through. You already have yourself. I’m just here with the tools, the perspective, and the ability to sit with you in the parts that are harder to hold alone.
We are fellow travellers in this. You drive, I hold the map.
What this means in practice
My work is grounded, relational, and responsive.
I meet you where you are, not where you “should” be. There is no pressure to perform, to present neatly, or to have it all make sense straight away.
You can say the messy things. The uncomfortable things. The things that don’t quite line up yet. Nothing you bring will overwhelm me, and nothing is off the table.
I lead with curiosity, not assumption. If something isn’t working, I don’t keep pushing it. We step back, we adjust, we find another way.
There is also humour here. Because even in the heavy moments, we are still human.
Working with the whole of you
A lot of therapy stays in the head.
Mine doesn’t.
You don’t just think your way through life, you live it through your body. The anxiety in your chest, the tension in your shoulders, the way you shut down or brace or pull away, that is all part of the story.
So we work with that.
We track what is happening in your body in real time. We slow things down enough for you to notice. Not to force change, but to understand what is actually going on underneath.
This is where Sensorimotor Psychotherapy comes in. It helps us work directly with the nervous system, not just the narrative.
Therapy that feels more natural
I also offer therapy outside of the traditional room.
For some people, sitting face-to-face in a clinic can feel clinical, confronting, or just not quite right.
So we don’t have to do it that way.
Walk and Talk Therapy allows us to move side by side, outdoors, with the rhythm of walking helping your nervous system settle and the conversation find its own pace.
In-home therapy removes the barrier of having to get yourself somewhere when even leaving the house can feel like too much. You don’t have to get well enough to show up. I show up to you.
Both approaches soften the dynamic. They make the process feel more human, less observed, and more like something you can actually relax into.

The intention behind it all
I’m not interested in creating dependency.
This work is about you becoming more resourced, more aware, and more capable of holding yourself in your life outside of our sessions. I will support you in building that, including connection to your own community and support systems.
Ultimately, this is about helping you move out of stuckness.
Not by becoming someone else, but by getting to know the creature of you. What fits. What doesn’t. What your life feels like when you stop living by accident and start engaging with it more intentionally.
From there, things tend to shift.

Book a free introductory call
If you’re considering therapy with me, the next step is to book a free introductory call.
This call is a no-pressure way of getting to know each other a little. You can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and see whether we are a good fit for each other. Therapy is a relationship, and fit matters.
